If you intend to use remote clients, you MUST first configure DCOM using Windows DCOMCNFG.EXE configuration utility.

The following steps describe a typical full permission configuration.

Note that options that we refer to here may slightly differ according to the version of Windows and service pack you are using.

• Step 1:

Setup the default options with the 'Default Properties' tab.

>> Check the 'Enable Distributed COM on this computer'.

>> Select '(None)' for the Default Authentication Level.

>> Select 'Anonymous' for the Default Impersonation Level.

>> Uncheck the 'Provide additional security for reference tracking'.

• Step 2:

Setup the default options with the 'Default Security' tab.

>> Edit Default Access Permissions and add 'Everyone' with

'Allow Access'.

>> Edit Default Launch Permissions and add 'Everyone' with

'Allow Launch'.

>> Edit Default Configuration Permissions and add

'Everyone' with 'Full Control'.

• Step 3:

Edit Properties for the 'ISaGRAF OPC Server'.

On the General tab you find nothing to modify, it's just information. The path of the latest registered OPC Server is shown on this window. By this path, it is possible to know if the server is correctly installed.

• Step 4:

Setup the 'Location' tab options.

>> Only the 'Run application on this computer' should be checked for the first tests

• Step 5:

Setup the 'Security' tab options.

>> Every 'Use Default...' radio buttons should be checked, or if you want special permissions, use the custom features.

• Step 6:

Setup the 'Identity' tab options.

>> Select 'The interactive user', so that the OPC Server window, when remotely accessed, will appear after starting.

• Step 7:

When Ok, press OK to quit the configuration of the OPC Server, and then press OK to quit the DCOM configuration.
